The Audio & Visual Technician plays a key role in the successful execution of live events, concerts, and productions by overseeing all aspects of event production, from technical setup to on-site coordination. This position combines technical expertise in sound and lighting with strong organizational and administrative skills to ensure seamless event delivery. The Audio & Visual Technician will serve as the primary point of contact for performers, internal departments, and vendors throughout the planning and execution process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sound & Lighting Engineering: Operate and manage all audio and lighting equipment during events, ensuring professional-quality production for performances and presentations.
- Event Setup: Oversee all elements of event production setup including stage layout, equipment placement, and backline needs.
- Band Coordination & Scheduling: Serve as the liaison for bands and performers; manage contracts, technical riders, call times, and load-in/load-out schedules.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain production calendars, manage emails and correspondence, and organize all documentation related to event logistics.
- Invoicing & Budget Tracking: Collect vendor and artist invoices, submit for processing, and assist with event-related budget tracking and reporting.
- On-Site Contact: Act as the on-site point of contact for all production elements during events; troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time.
- BEO Creation (Banquet Event Orders): Develop detailed BEOs in collaboration with internal departments, clearly outlining all technical and production needs.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with teams such as Lifestyles, Communications, Food & Beverage, and Facilities to gather and communicate all event-specific details.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or certification in Technical Theatre, Event Production, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with musical and performing arts environments, associated equipment operation.
- Experience managing teams or volunteers in a live event setting.
COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience in live event production, technical direction, or stage management.
- Proficient in sound and lighting systems (analog and digital consoles, DMX programming, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly on-site.
- Working knowledge of event management software and BEO platforms is a plus.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
If driving is, or becomes, a requirement of the role, it is required, at all times, that you hold a valid state driver’s license for the class of vehicle you are driving, maintain a clean motor vehicle report, and hold current automobile insurance at statutory limits. You must notify Human Resources immediately regarding any change to your motor vehicle standing. CCMC may periodically review motor vehicle reports to ensure compliance with these requirements.

- Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events.
- Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
- Driving: Ability to operate vehicle to perform certain job functions. (Please note: We will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
